Van Purser has touched many lives throughout North Georgia and beyond. Devoted family man, spiritual counselor, business leader, and cycling advocate, his impact is broadly and deeply felt. On September 19, 2019 Van's battle with the ravages of ALS ended. Surrounded by a multitude of family and friends Van passed graciously from this world into the arms of God. To sustain his voice and to honor his legacy, the Van Purser Foundation (VPF) has been created.
The Van Purser Foundation is a non-profit charitable corporation (501(c)3), created by a group of caring cyclists, so that we might pour out into others just as Van has poured out into us. Our mission, simply, is to pull together to assist other cyclists in times of need.
