The Inspiration
Van Purser was more than just a name. He was a pillar of our community, a dedicated family man, spiritual guide, business leader, and passionate advocate for cycling. His impact stretched far and wide, resonating across North Georgia and beyond. Though Van's battle with ALS ended in 2019, his legacy lives on through the Van Purser Foundation—a testament to his boundless generosity and unwavering compassion.
Before he passed, Van laid the foundation for Domestique Leadership—a dream in the making. He envisioned a community where cyclists could unite to create positive change, not just on the roads we ride but also in the lives of those we encounter along the way. (Check out the video here.) Under his guidance, we were inspired to become caring, servant leaders, fostering connections and support both on and off the bike.
The Mission
The Van Purser Foundation embodies this spirit of giving back. It is a non-profit charitable organization, fueled by the passion of fellow cyclists, dedicated to extending the same support and encouragement that Van showered upon us. Our mission is simple yet profound: to stand together in solidarity, supporting fellow cyclists in their times of need.
The AFO Ride
One of the highlights of our calendar is the All for One 100 ride—an annual celebration of community and a crucial fundraiser for our cause. Mark your calendars for October 5, 2024, for this year's event. With routes tailored to every level of cyclist and opportunities for non-cyclists to lend their support, there's a place for everyone to make a difference.
We're gearing up for an unforgettable event this year, and we want you to be a part of it. Join us for a day filled with purpose, camaraderie, and joy as we honor Van's memory and continue our mission of supporting cyclists in need. Get ready to ride alongside us.
